紅襪隊8局下兩出局之後，Jose Rosario擊出三壘打，Sam Travis、Jantzen Witte連續安打，打回1分，追成3比3平手，接著林子偉再敲安打，送回致勝的第4分。林子偉熱身賽出賽7場，7打數擊出3支安打，有3打點。
此戰紅襪隊先發投手Chris Sale投4局被擊出7支安打失3分，三振3次、沒保送。
「魔球」軍團奧克蘭運動家隊終於在季末出手補強，以600萬美元一年約簽下外野手Rajai Davis（戴維斯），他去年幫印地安人隊打進世界大賽。
Rajai Davis36歲，但他去年盜壘43次，位居美聯盜壘王寶座，而他也繳出打擊率2成49，出賽134場。
